About

Built for the communities we've been part of our whole lives.

Grook is a privacy-first community platform for gaming and anime audiences — chat, voice, live streaming, watch parties, forums, and creator monetisation in one place, without surveillance and without taking most of creators' revenue.

What we're building

Grook brings together everything a modern community already does — text rooms, voice rooms, live streaming, watch parties, forums — in one platform built specifically for the way gaming and anime communities operate. Communities create guilds, set their own themes, run their own economies, and moderate with tools that work the moment the guild exists.

Creators monetise through subscriptions, a shop, super chats on live streams, and a bot marketplace. Every one of those revenue streams is a 70/30 split in the creator's favour. No ads, no algorithmic feed, no data sales.

Status

Grook is pre-launch, currently in staged beta with a closed waitlist. Public launch is planned for 2026.

Infrastructure runs on Google Cloud Platform across multiple regions, with Cloudflare handling DNS, CDN, and embed proxying globally.

What we stand for

Privacy by architecture

No government ID. No biometric data. No behavioural profiling. Direct messages encrypted end-to-end on your device with the Signal Protocol. The client will be open-sourced at launch.

Creator ownership

70% of every subscription, shop sale, tip, and bot install goes to the creator. No ads. No algorithmic feed pushing paid content over community content.

Transparency by default

Quarterly transparency reports covering government requests, compliance rates, and moderation volume. Monthly warrant canary. Public breach disclosure within 72 hours regardless of scope.
