Terms of Service

Last updated: 20 April 2026

Grook is a community platform operated from Bangalore, India. By accessing or using Grook, you agree to these terms. If you don't, please don't use the service.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, joining a guild, or otherwise using Grook, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Accounts

You are responsible for the security of your account credentials. You must meet the minimum age for online services in your jurisdiction to create an account. One person may operate multiple accounts (alts); these accounts are linked internally for the purpose of ban propagation — see the Privacy Policy for detail.

3. Acceptable use

You may not use Grook to upload child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — this is absolute, non-negotiable, and enforced synchronously at upload time. You may not harass, threaten, or dox other users. You may not post content that is illegal in India or in the jurisdiction where you reside. You may not attempt to circumvent moderation, alt-ban propagation, rate limits, or encryption. You may not scrape the service outside the documented bot API.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the content you post. By posting content, you grant Grook a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, transmit, display, and moderate your content for the purpose of operating the service. We do not sell your content or use it to train third-party models.

5. Moderation and enforcement

We may remove content, warn, timeout, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Alt accounts linked to a terminated account may be terminated together. Moderation actions are logged. If you believe an action was taken in error, email support@grook.app.

6. Paid features

Subscriptions, shop purchases, super chats, and bot marketplace purchases will be available when the creator economy launches. Payments are processed by Stripe. Grook takes a 30% platform fee on creator revenue at launch (0% during beta). Refunds for digital goods are at the creator's discretion unless required by law.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time, subject to the retention terms in our Privacy Policy. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. Termination does not refund amounts already paid for digital goods and services already delivered, except where required by law.

8. Disclaimers

Grook is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis during beta. We make no guarantees of uptime or fitness for a particular purpose. Use at your own risk.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Grook is not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim, or ₹10,000, whichever is greater.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes arising from these terms or your use of the service are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Bangalore, Karnataka, India.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. Material changes are announced on our social channels and reflected in the Last Updated date above. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
